Follow the lens of Daniel Krieger and you'll come to fully understand the Pavlovian effect. Whether he's shooting the hottest new restaurants for the New York Times, or traveling the world to document pasta masters in Italy, Daniel Krieger is a much-lauded veteran of the food photography circuit.
Even if you don't know the name, you've most likely stumbled across his photos while scrolling through your IG feed, captivated by his intimate portraits of our food heroes, or the beauty of fried chicken's craggy crust. But as much as Krieger is a master of the #foodporn genre, amassing a sizeable following of his own, he's a storyteller at heart.
As part of First We Feast's year-end tradition, we asked Krieger to share behind-the-scenes intel of some of his favorite photos in 2016, and explain what made them so special.
