TIME reports that four years ago today, on July 16, 2010, Instagram CEO and co-founder Kevin Systrom uploaded the first photo to the app. The picture was of a cute pup, and it was taken at a taco stand called Tacos Chilakos in Mexico.
And now we have struggle plates and funeral selfies. Way to go, guys.
