Legendary British rock group Queen will release their own brand of beer in celebration of the 40th anniversary of “Bohemian Rhapsody,” the group’s genre-defying hit.
The Freddy Mercury-inspired swill will be a “golden hoppy” lager brewed in Bohemia, otherwise known as the Czech Republic, and it’s going to be appropriately (if not very creatively) called Queen Bohemian Lager. We’d have named it “Bismillah Beer” or “Little High, Little Low Lager”—but no matter, we’re just happy it’s going to exist.
The bottles will feature art from A Night at the Opera, the 1975 album on which the song first appeared, as well as the distinctive Freddie Mercury-designed Queen crest.
Queen Bohemian Lager will truly rock, which is why we’re undeterred by the asking price of $31 for a 12-pack of 12-ounce bottles. No word yet on when the lager will be released, but we hope it’s in time for Father’s Day 2016.
