In America, we run on doughnuts. But the citizens of Taiwan, China, and Hong Kong are fueled by the pineapple bun.

Pizza Hut Taiwan is taking the crust game up a notch by introducing the Pineapple Bun Stuffed Crust Pizza, which features a crust infused with the region’s favorite fattening confection.

The pineapple bun (locally known as bo lo bao) is a soft and sweet bun that, despite its name, does not actually contain any pineapple. Instead, the name reflects the crusty, golden glazed sugary top that resembles the exterior of the fruit. The bun is best enjoyed with a cup of milk tea, and stuffed with butter. Thick slices of butter. And that should explain why people will line up for the bao.

The pizza will feature a crust with a pineapple bun-like crispy shell and a soft, sweet crumb. The pineapple bun crust will be stuffed with molten cheese.
