KFC has been giving its omnipresent Colonel Sanders mascot a 21st-century re-brand. The company debuted a video game in May that starred the character, allowing fans to “discover” the Colonel’s mysterious roots. Now KFC is making him a comic-book superhero, too.

The chain announced it’ll give out hard copies of a Colonel Sanders graphic novel, KFC Presents: The Colonel’s Adventure Comics, to Comic-Con attendees in San Diego’s Gaslamp Quarter this week. A press release elaborated on its plot: “The comic depicts early events in Colonel Sanders’ life that eventually led to the discovery of his real super power: the combination of a pressure cooker and secret blend of 11 herbs and spices, better known as his world-famous Original Recipe Chicken.”

Even if you’re not in San Diego and can’t pick up a physical copy, KFC made the whole thing available online here. Check out some stills from the graphic novel below.
