These days, it seems that nothing is sacred in the sushi world. Rolls are stuffed and topped with everything from bacon to Philadelphia cream cheese.

Chef Hiroyuki Terada of Nove Sushi in Miami decided to take the concept of unorthodox sushi a step further by transforming a McDonald’s Big Mac into a sushi roll. Watch the video below to see how Terada works his magic, and follow our step-by-step instructions to recreate the Big Mac Roll at home.

How to Make a Big Mac Sushi Roll at Home

Step 1: Deconstruct the cheeseburger. Slice the buns crosswise and lay them out to mimic seaweed.BUN

Step 2: After cutting the meat and cheese in strips (and scraping off the special sauce), lay the ingredients out along the buns

Step 3: Add avocado, tomato, cilantro, and McDonald’s French fries

Step 4: Roll everything up using a bamboo mat so you have one tight package

Step 5: Slice into 10 pieces, and top with BBQ sauce, spicy mayo, and microgreens.edit[via Diaries of a Master Sushi Chef, Quartz]
