Over the years, 2 Chainz has solidified his reputation as a man of refined taste, snacking on $295 hamburgers and washing his food down with $100,000 bottles of water. So it makes sense that while the rest of us are hovering over our sad, pathetic desk lunches, waiting for the clock to strike five so we can finally cook a proper meal, the artist formally known as Titi Boi is apparently spending his afternoons dining on the finest of grilled Japanese meats.
On Wednesday night, 2 Chainz released Hibachi for Lunch, a seven-song mixtape that marks the rapper’s third project in the last year. The tape’s artwork is inspired by traditional Japanese paintings, with a man gripping a sword in one hand, and a giant fish in the other. In addition to the new tracks, 2 Chainz also announced the release of a Hibachi for Lunch clothing line, featuring a series of long sleeve t-shirts, hoodies, and hats.
In the past, the Atlanta MC has often rapped about his love for hibachi—specifically a little chain called Benihana.
"Let me turn it down my baby mama listening,” he famously rapped on “Crack.” “Extra garlic butter I got Benihana issues."
We’re just hoping the visuals for Hibachi for Lunch will finally feature 2 Chainz stepping behind the grill, showing off his knife skills before turning a stack of raw onion rings into a fiery volcano.
