Earlier this year, Waka Flocka Flame—the Atlanta-bred rapper who was once hospitalized for eating too much weed—explained his reasons for becoming vegetarian in a video for Munchies. “I just didn’t want to be fat, I got tired of breathing hard, I got tired of my joints hurting,” he said. “I just got tired of being lied to.”
Well, it looks like the diet worked. On Thursday, the Brick Squad rapper was named the Hottest Vegetarian Celebrity of 2016 by PETA2 alongside the social media star Andrea Russett. To win the crown, Waka Flocka beat out the likes of Liam Hemsworth, YG, and his old cooking buddy Raury.
“We have a serious #CelebCrush on Waka Flocka Flame,” PETA writes on its site. “Along with everything this hottie does for animals, he still manages to make amazing chart-topping bangers on the regular!”
In 2015, after announcing his candidacy for president, the MC promised to ban dogs from restaurants and raise the minimum wage for fast-food workers to $15 an hour. Waka Flocka has also posed naked for PETA’s “Ink, Not Mink” campaign in the past, urging the hip-hop community to “be comfortable in your own skin, and let animals keep theirs.”
