I don’t think it’s hyperbolic at all to say that Sylvester Stallone is unequivocally the greatest actor of all time. Sly’s performance in Over the Top—in which he plays a truck driver named Lincoln Hawk, who wins back the love of his son while becoming a champion-caliber arm wrestler—is enough to earn the softcore porn star-turned filmmaker the top spot. Rocky was good, too.

But I digress. According to Page Six, Stallone is developing a new television series called “Pizza Guy.” The comedy is based on the “crazy life” of Richie Palmer, a pizza guy who fled the Bronx 20 years ago and ended up opening the popular Mulberry Street Pizzeria in Beverly Hills, California.

Palmer was once married to Raquel Welch and, according to the Hollywood Reporter, is a “longtime friend” of Stallone’s, as well as Arnold Schwarzenegger and Mickey Rourke. Suddenly, the Expendables makes a lot more sense.

The former gossip columnist A.J. Benza is reportedly writing the pilot, and apparently Sly is pretty psyched about the project.

“Sly called me one day and said, ‘Richie’s life is insane. He’s sitting on a gold mine with all the stories and characters that place has,’” Benza told Page Six. “We both [have known] Richie forever, so we put our heads together and banged it out.”

As a number of blogs have already pointed out, this isn’t first time Sly has handled a pie on camera. Back in 1986, while playing badass LAPD officer Marion Cobretti in the film Cobra, the actor could be seen enjoying some cold pizza while donning a pair of leather gloves.
