Why eat boring, basic popcorn covered in artificial butter when you can eat insanely expensive, baller-ass popcorn covered in gold dust? Well, that seems to be 2 Chainz's philosophy at least. For the past two years the Atlanta-bred rapper has hosted the GQ web series Most Expensivest Shit, more or less becoming an expert on edible, gold foodstuffs in the process.

Now, in the most recent installment of the series, Chainz and pro skateboarder Nyjah Huston can be seen testing out some products from Berco's, the Chicago-based snack purveyor that boasts the "world's most expensive popcorn." Though the company also sells artisanal flavors like "Way Too Expensive White Truffle" and "World Famous White Cheddar," Berco's gold-coated "Billion Dollar" popcorn retails for $5 a kernel, or $500 a tub.

What makes the snack-food so pricey? For starters, the company uses the priciest salt in the world, flying its shipments in from Læsø, a small island in Denmark, and packaging the goods in little Ziplock baggies. Though the salt alone costs $10 a pound, according to Matt Bercovitz, the company's founder and CEO, the popcorn is sprinkled with real 24-karat gold flakes, which can cost up to $150 a gram.

Still, Chainz is no stranger to shoving a bunch of gold in his mouth.

"I've eaten gold on a burger. I've eaten gold in a sundae. I've eaten gold just going hard in the bedroom, chain in the mouth, swag," he told Bercovitz, definitely over-sharing. "All my records, they eventually go gold or platinum."

It's also not the first time we've seen the rapper try gold-coated popcorn, either. In July, he stopped by to share the snack with Stephen Colbert.
