When it comes to culinary innovation, Taco Bell is the mad scientist of the fast-food world. From dusting their products in Doritos seasoning, to somehow turning a fried chicken breast into a taco shell, the Tex-Mex chain is never afraid to push the tortilla to new and frightening extremes.

Nearly dubbed the “Mexagon,” the "Origami Tostada,” the “Crunchwich,” and the “Crunchilada" in the days leading up to its inception in 2005, the Crunchwrap Supreme has steadily become one of the most beloved items on the Taco Bell menu, throwing a tostada shell in the middle of an unholy amalgamation of beef, nacho cheese sauce, lettuce, and tomatoes. Now, as if the Crunchwrap Supreme wasn't supreme enough, Taco Bell has unveiled its latest Tex-Mex monstrosity: the Triple Double Crunchwrap.

The new item debuted on Thursday, and will be available at Taco Bell locations for just $3.49. According to Business Insider, fans of the fast-food chain—who are notoriously passionate in their love for the restaurant's ever-changing menu—were planning to tailgait the unveiling in order to get the Triple Double Crunchwrap at the earliest possible moment.

"They’re crunchy, yet still soft and chewy somehow. They fit everything you could possibly want or need into a one-handed lunch staple," Taco Bell wrote of its Crunchwrap line on its website. "They’re the new 'it' thing for a reason."

Still, customers may finally need to use two hands for the Triple Double.
