Last year, we became so obsessed with photos of Kanye West smiling while eating ice cream that we took it upon ourselves to imagine what it would look like if 'Ye started his own scoop parlor. Fantasy turned into reality when our friends at Morgenstern's Finest Ice Cream decided to create an IRL version of our fictional menu in honor of Kanye's 38th birthday. Next thing we knew, there were lines snaking down Rivington Street full of Yeezus-worshiping ice-cream lovers queuing up for Red October Raspberry cones and Kim K Thirst Trap Sundaes. Just like that, first Kanye Ice Cream Week was born. It was a beautiful thing.
Like 'Ye and his Adidas collection, we couldn't leave it at that. We needed to make more "dope shit," because scoop man Nick Morgenstern is the Young Metro of frozen treats and everything he touches is a smash. So we went back to the lab, devised a brand-new menu (bigger and better, like the fifth version of "Wolves"), and decided to give Mr. West what he deserves for this year's birthday: Kanye Ice Cream Week Season 2!
The limited-edition menu, which includes last year's biggest hit (the "I Am a God" Ice Cream Croissantwich) and 11 brand-new items, will run from June 2-12 at Morgenstern's (2 Rivington St; 212-209-7684, morgensternsnyc.com). Don't forget to hashtag all your photos with #KanyeIceCreamWeek—we'll be sharing the best shots on Instagram (@firstwefeast). Fingers crosses for a Nori and Saint sighting—we made some milkshakes just for them.
