If you haven’t heard, Donald Trump has made some very questionable moves in the food and beverage industry. From selling steaks through the Sharper Image to creating his own wine brand, The Donald has thrown a price tag on just about everything you can imagine. But while Trump’s moved on to selling us himself as President, the current Commander-in-Chief has something to say about these products. Obama took his time at a couple Democratic fundraisers to make jokes about Trump’s cheap wine and out-of-business steak company.
Obama was in Austin and Dallas, Texas this weekend, mostly to hang out at SXSW, eat some Torchy’s tacos, and probably catch a 2 Chainz show, but he also found time to talk to groups of Democratic supporters about their arch-nemesis, Donald Trump. According to the New York Daily News, Obama wasted no time taking jabs at the Republican front-runner, saying things like;
“Has anybody bought that wine? I want to know what that wine tastes like,” Obama said. “I mean, come on. You know that’s like some $5 wine. They slap a label on it. They charge you $50 and say it’s the greatest wine ever.”
The President couldn’t keep a straight face as he continued, “Oh, boy. Selling wine. That’s not what we’re for. Couldn’t make it up.”
The Trump clowning comes only days after Trump set up a spread of his personally branded wine and steaks at a Jupiter, Florida press conference. There’s only one thing…the trademark on Trump Steaks was canceled two years ago.
