Virgil Abloh, one of Kanye West’s most trusted confidantes, looks like he’ll try his hand at the restaurant game. Abloh is reportedly involved in the opening of Honey’s, a forthcoming West Loop haunt that will start serving food in April.

Eater Chicago has the details:

This place will have everything: A hearth-driven kitchen, a bar imported from New York City, and “European elegance meets American swagger.”

The latter translates to a 100-seat restaurant and bar at 1111 W. Lake St. in the West Loop, divided between a dining room and separate bar as well as a private dining room with its own bar that formerly resided in New York City’s The Harrison. Both spaces will be illuminated by large skylights. With Abloh onboard, design will play a crucial element in the concept.

Partner Justin Furman says that he sees Honey’s becoming a place where “we can have a high level of food but walk in [wearing] jeans and a t-shirt.” In order to achieve that vision, the team behind Honey’s has tapped Charles Welch, former executive sous chef at Sepia, to become executive chef and Tyrone Redic, formerly of Acadia, to take on the general manager responsibilities.

Unfortunately, there’s been no word of Kanye West opening up an ice-cream stand in the back.

Edit: This post has been corrected to reflect that Abloh isn’t not solely responsible for opening Honey’s; it also incorrectly stated that Abloh is Kanye West’s creative director.
