Aziz has been ‘gramming his way through Southern India (and now Italy), and we’ve sure been digging it. The Master of None star recently returned to his roots by visiting Trivandrum, a capital in the Southern Indian state of Kerala, where his parents are from, and let his stomach lead the way. “I use the food scene as a kind of a way in to explore the culture,” says Ansari. Smart man.

In a recent T Magazine video profile, Ansari seeks out a tasty orange coconut his cousin told him about, eats fish thali at Hotel Mubarak in the famous Chalai market, and drops some entertaining expressions in Tamil, the native language of Kerala. Watch the master of traveling and eating do his thing in the video above.
