Twitter had a hell of a lot to say about the 2016 Grammys. Billboard Magazine was all up on the awards-show coverage, tweeting everything from Kendrick’s stirring performance to Gaga’s David Bowie tribute.
But many were surprised Billboard wasn’t more careful when choosing which tweets to attach ads to for McDonald’s 24-hour breakfast.
The McD’s ads showed up throughout the Grammys coverage, and people were most definitely not enjoying it.

Some people made a joke out of the unfortunate ad placement.

Others simply expressed how pissed off and/or confused they were.

While advertising is a necessary evil for publishers and online magazines, there’s definitely a way to be covert and not let the ad get in the way of the message. As for Billboard’s McD’s ad placement… that’s what we call a Twitter #fail.
