We all have those days when we roll up to work with disheveled hair and dark circles, looking a little less than attractive. It’s one thing if you think you’re looking like shit, but it’s a whole other story if someone actually mistakes you for a homeless person.
When Claire Varin stopped to grab a meal at her local McDonald’s, she spotted a disgruntled-looking man sitting at a table chowing down on some ketchup packets. Thinking that the man was homeless and hungry, Varin decided to be a good samaritan and grab an extra meal for him.
After recieving her order, she walked over to the man and dropped off the meal only to find a McDonald’s employee rushing over to hand the man a bag with the food he ordered, apologizing for the delay.

Varin notes,
She goes on to explain, “To be honest, my imagination ran away with me. Had this poor man been out on the streets all night? Was this the only food he would eat all day? Maybe he had no money and was starving. I thought only desperation could lead someone to eat ketchup.“
We’ve all been there, Claire.

Even though Varin was left feeling “mortified,” it would have been a whole lot more embarrassing if the “homeless” man found out someone thought he looked homeless. Odds are, he thought it was just a shy woman who thought he was attractive, looking to buy him a meal. Either way, the man copped two breakfasts. We’re sure he wasn’t complaining at all.
