While Steph Curry’s now a household name—an insanely talented basketball player and NBA world-champion point guard for the Golden State Warriors—there was a time when his legendary sharp-shooting dad, Dell, was the more recognizable Curry.
For ten years, Curry senior played for the Charlotte Hornets, and apparently cut a commercial for Burger King during that time which featured his young son, Steph. The whole thing’s got a very early-1990s lo-fi vibe to it, and features Steph asking his dad what it takes to be a world-class basketball player.
His dad’s response: “You’ve really got to want it—you’ve got to taste it.” Looks like the reigning MVP and NBA champion took the message to heart.
Watch the whole thing above.
