If you follow New York’s food world with any regularity, you’ve likely slobbered over more than a few Daniel Krieger snaps in your day. Whether he’s shooting reviews for the New York Times and Eater, or telling Questlove how to get the perfect ‘gram at a party, Krieger is a staple of the restaurant scene—even if he threw everyone for a loop this year by shearing off his signature ‘stache.
In addition to capturing the buzziest local chefs and restaurants in NYC, Krieger often hits the road to bring his eye for lighting and composition to new subjects like po’ boys in New Orleans, fish markets in Tokyo, and the wild terrain of Aspen.
As is tradition, we asked him to share some of his favorite photos with us to close out the year. Click through the gallery above for a rundown of Krieger’s best food shots of 2015, and don’t forget to follow him on Instagram—the man is a true master of the medium.
