Pie and stuffing aren’t the the only things at the table that should be baked this Thanksgiving. The turkey should be too. And no, not just in the “put the bird in the oven to roast until golden brown” sense, but also in the “it should be slathered with cannabis butter” sense. After all, the family that gets stoned together, stays together, right?
This recipe, from Cut’s Baked series, results in a gorgeous crisp bird and—fingers crossed—more err, relaxed, relatives. Watch the video below and follow the steps to recreate the turkey. Just be sure to serve the bird right at 4:20pm.
How to Make a Cannabis Turkey at Home
Step 1: Make the cannabis butter (“cannabutter”) which involves boiling weed, butter, and water and straining the mixture. The mixture is then refrigerated and strained again.
Step 2: Prep the turkey for baking. Rub the cannabutter all over the outside of the turkey. Don’t forget to season with salt and pepper. Then stuff the turkey with lemon, onions, garlic, and herbs.
Step 3: Make the marinade by boiling butter, maple syrup, lemon juice, garlic, and chicken stock.
Step 4: Fill medical-grade syringe with marinade and inject into various points of the turkey to plump it up.
Step 5: Place in the oven to bake and baste periodically with more butter. Maybe smoke a bowl while waiting.
Step 6: Feast hard.
