The year of insane shark catches continues: a 483-pound porbeagle shark was hooked last week by a family in Massachusetts. The father-daughter duo spent over an hour reeling in the nearly 500-pound monster, while the nine-year-old son piloted the boat. The shark was eventually harpooned before being taken to shore to be weighed.

According to Outdoor Hub, the impressive catch nearly reached the state and world record of 495 pounds and 507 pounds, respectively. The family took pride in their huge catch-of-the-day and decided to use the 200-pounds of shark meat they obtained as food to share with their community.
