In the same week that Whole Foods got called out for consistently mislabeling grocery items, Pinnacle Foods Group LLC decided to voluntarily recall 8,678 cases of Wish-Bone Ranch Salad Dressing after a consumer found that one of the bottles actually contained Blue Cheese Dressing.

As the company noted in its statement to the FDA, the biggest concern here is a potential threat to food-allergy sufferers:

[pullquote]The product [Wish-Bone Blue Cheese Salad Dressing] contains eggs, a known allergen not declared on the packaging. Those people who have allergies or severe sensitivity to eggs run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product. If you are not allergic to eggs, this product is safe to eat.[/pullquote]
