A Louisiana man would like to know why a Walmart bakery denied his request for a Confederate flag cake, then agreed to make him a cake with an ISIS flag on it. The man, who goes by Chuck Netzhammer on YouTube, posted a video explaining his version of what went down at the Walmart in Slidell, LA.
In the video’s description, Netzhammer writes,
Netzhammer seems to be upset that companies including Walmart, eBay, Amazon, Target, and Etsy banned sales of merchandise depicting the Confederate flag after the massacre in Charleston renewed the debate about whether the battle flag is a racist symbol. Meanwhile, South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley called to remove the Confederate Flag from its perch in front of the State House.
A spokesman for Walmart told ABC News, “An associate in a local store did not know what the design meant and made a mistake. The cake should not have been made and we apologize.”
Meanwhile, Netzhammer has his own message for the mega-chain: “[You are] alienating Southern Americans with this trash that you allow to be sold in your store.”
