Domino’s smartwatch app reminds us of that scene at the end of The Wizard of Oz when Dorothy clicks her heels three times and magically appears at home—just replace the ruby slippers with a smartwatch and Auntie Em with a pizza. The app for Pebble and Android Wear will be available from Monday, allowing users to order delivery in three clicks, provided they have an existing profile with a saved or recent order on it.

The app also tracks the progress of your order once it’s been placed. We love the idea of your watch telling you not just what time it is but, more pertinently, how long until your pizza is ready. Here’s a video of the app in action.

You can now order Domino’s on an iPad, iPhone, Android, Windows Phone 8, Kindle Fire, or smartwatch. And according to Entrepreneur, the company’s investment in tech services is paying off: 50% of Domino’s sales are through digital channels.

The smartphone app is far more basic than the other devices. Eater reports that Domino’s iPad app has a 3D pizza builder that shows you what your pie will look like IRL, and the mobile app has a voice-activated virtual assistant named Dom. “The Siri-like system allows users to simply open the app and give Dom directions like ‘I’ll take a 14-piece order of Hot Wings’ instead of having to click through to order.”

It’s surely only a matter of time until the smartwatch app has similar capabilities. We look forward to the day when we can order Domino’s by shouting “I want pizza!” into our watches.
