The Halal Guys have been a Midtown mainstay since their first truck hit the street in 1983. That means they’ve been shilling way-better-than-average $6 meat and rice platters to New Yorkers for two decades. Now, California is about to get its first taste of The Halal Guys. We say…

Last month, The Halal Guys signed a 50-unit franchise deal to bring the famed cart concept to Southern California. Five locations in Los Angeles and Orange County are anticipated to open by the end of 2015.

Foodbeast just announced the exact location of the first Halal Guys opening shop in California, in the city of Costa Mesa in Orange County. Exact address: 3033 Bristol Street (near South Coast Plaza shopping center and UC Irvine).

The Costa Mesa Halal Guys will open in August, and the restaurant will be open for lunch and dinner.

Eventually, The Halal Guys will become an international chain. Deals have been made to open locations in Houston, TX, Washington, D.C., Chicago, and Philadelphia. The Philippines, Kuala Lumpur, and Malaysia are also official targets.
