KFC set the stage for ridiculous meat-on-meat creations long ago with its infamous Double Down sandwich. For those of you living under a rock (or simply not into fast-food Frankenfoods), the Double Down is a sandwich that swaps buns for two pieces of KFC Original Recipe fried chicken. Inside the sandwich is the gut-busting combination of bacon, melted Monterey Jack and Pepper Jack cheese, and secret sauce.

Now, the Colonel is looking to reprise its dominance with his latest hybrid edible: something called the “Fire Double Maxx.”

The sandwich, available only in Korea until the end of February, consists of two pieces of hot fried chicken filets (in place of buns), hot chili sauce, a slice of tomato, and a slice of cheese.

As Grub Street so astutely points out, the new KFC Fire Double Down needs to come to America, and it needs to be made with Nashville hot chicken.

Why? Just watch chef Sean Brock’s eyes roll back in his head after he eats Prince’s Hot Chicken on Mind of a Chef, and you’ll understand.

Over in the Philippines, KFC recently released a Double Down hot dog. It’s about time we stop thinking America is the most forward-thinking country in the world, amirite?1509690_986920874670025_4325535968612002856_n
