San Francisco-based artist Hannah Rothstein doesn’t like to be confined by any particular discipline.
To that end, on her website, Rothstein distills her artistic pursuits into a single phrase: “Hannah Rothstein creates.”
For Thanksgiving 2014, Rothstein created a series she calls, “How Famous Artists Would Plate Thanksgiving Meals.”
It’s the traditional American Thanksgiving meal, as filtered through some of the most famous works of art in the world.
Here are a few of our favorites:
René Magritte
Piet Mondrian
Pablo Picasso
Vincent Van Gogh
Jackson Pollock
You can view Rothstein’s entire Thanksgiving series here, on her site.
We think that this is a great exhibit to bookmark for the next time someone who doesn’t get Thanksgiving tries to tell you that the food is boring.
