Pastry wizard and inventor of the Cronut™, Dominique Ansel, just dropped some big news via Instagram. He plans to open a Dominique Ansel Bakery in Tokyo by summer 2015.

Ansel tells First We Feast,

“When we set out to look for a second location for the shop, we wanted to make sure it would not be a place where we are going to copy and paste our store. It is a place where we are going to take things to a whole new level. Tokyo is it! Japan is a country that inspires me everyday and we’re looking for fresh, new ideas there to enhance our favorite items, but also create new ones.

The 4000 square foot bakery will be located in Omotesandowhich is similar to Soho with its focus on fashion and art. Stay tuned for more info on the Tokyo DA Bakery opening, and details on what that “just for Tokyo” creation entails.
