Bon Appetit released the 50 nominees for 2014’s Best New Restaurants list this week, and Los Angeles has more nominees than any other city. There a total of five L.A. restaurants nominated, which means L.A. restos make up 10% of the entire list. New York City has four nominees on the list: Estela, Luksus, Sushi Nakazawa, and Uncle Boon’s.

“Los Angeles is now the best example of what defines American dining in 2014 and what makes it so dynamic: quality of ingredients, diversity of cultures and a certain laid-back swagger.” 



Knowlton isn’t the only one who has the hots for Los Angeles. Late last year, Ruth Reichl proclaimed that “L.A. is the most important place in America to eat right now.”
