Shake Shack revolutionized the New York burgerscape when it opened 10 years ago in Madison Square Park.
The cult NYC burger chain celebrated its 10th anniversary with a week-long series of culinary collaborations involving heavy-hitting chefs like David Chang, Daniel Boulud, April Bloomfield, Andrew Zimmern, and Daniel Humm.
Throughout the week, one culinary collaboration burger ($8.50 each) was available each day from a different chef.

On Tuesday, David Chang’s “Shrimp stack” broke the record for the longest Shake Shack line in the history of Madison Square Park. On June 12th, Shake Shack’s actual 10th Birthday, the $8.50 truffle-covered burger from Eleven Madison Park chef Daniel Humm drew an even bigger crowd—the line stretched all the way to 26th street.
And because all of that’s not epic enough, pastry chef Dominique Ansel presented a 8-foot-tall, Shack-inspired cake.

We went to Madison Square Park to participate in the “Decade of Shack-Fest” and to see what the Humm burger was all about.
While we were there, we asked people what they thought of the truffle-laden creation, and how long they had been waiting in line. All we can say is, New Yorkers will do absurd and amazing things for a burger.
