The James Beard Foundation just held a big ol’ press conference down in Orlando to announce the semifinalists for this year’s Restaurant and Chef categories at the annual awards gala, which will be held on May 5. In addition to listing the nominees, the foundation shared the theme of this year’s ceremony: “Sounds of the City,” exploring the relationship between music and food in cities around the country.
Does that mean an Action Bronson performance at the Lincoln Center this year? Probably not, but we can always hold out hope. In the meantime, check out the full list of semifinalists below, as well as some tidbits from the FWF archives to help you get to know them better.
