Calling all hollandaise, waffle, and mimosa-lovers: You know those boozy brunches you drag yourself out of bed for on Sunday mornings? According to the Huffington Post, they’re illegal.

Turns out, a State Liquor Authority law exists that prohibits the “selling, serving, delivering, or offering to patrons an unlimited number of drinks during any set period of time for a fixed price.”

Relax, relax. No one seems to be too concerned about this law, including Robert Bookman, counsel to the NYC Hospitality Alliance, who told The New York Post that “the community boards don’t seem to be complaining about it and the customers definitely aren’t complaining about it.”

In the odd chance that restaurants are forced to kill their bottomless brunch deals, just remember that there’s always Happy Hour, which is way less annoying than bottomless brunch.
