The over-consumption of sugar in America has become a grave problem. Thanks to soft drinks, candy, desserts, and sweetened fruit drinks, 25.8 million children and adults in the United States (8.3% of the population) have diabetes. Another not-so-fun fact: More than one-third of U.S. adults (35.7%) are obese.
