The Game says that when he tried to eat lunch at Houston’s in Pasadena, a manager turned him away. The rapper tweeted: “Its [sic] 90 degrees outside so I have a tank top on & the manager on duty says the tattoos on my arms are threatening 2 lunch customers … Racism still exists.” Followed by this tweet two minutes later:
Now #DontEatAtHoustonsPasadena is trending, and The Game is responsible. “The restaurant is maintaining that it was just enforcing its strict dress code that requires sleeves,” reports Grub Street.
This debacle is especially scandalous seeing that Houston’s is a time-honored rapper favorite—Atlanta rapper Young Jeezy even says, “Love me some spinach dip, I’m addicted to Houston’s” in his song My President. From this point on, we’re guessing Jeezy, The Game, and most of the Twittersphere might not be hitting up Houston’s quite as frequently.
Don’t fret, this story of racial profiling and potential tattoo hatred has a happy ending, as is evident in The Game’s most recent twitpic:
