If you’re on the hunt for a new coffee table book that you might actually read, check out Lucy Knisley’s most recent memoir, Relish: My Life in the Kitchen. The book is a graphic novel about her experiences working in kitchens and as a cheesemonger, told through colorful, cartoon-style illustrations. Knisley’s casual voice allows her to share her knowledge of food and cooking without sounding didactic as she shares family recipes and reflects on the agricultural origins of her meals.

A few facts from her “six totally amazing things I learned about cheese”: cheese rinds are edible and delicious; blue cheese mold is actually able to spread to other cheeses; and not all cheese is vegetarian.
