Kim and Kanye have always been their own people—even before they paraded around cities in stilettos and chains (respectively) as the infamous Kimye. Kim used to go for sex tapes and NFL players, while Kanye hung out with Amber Rose and made songs with T-Pain. But more importantly, they had their own identities when it came to eats.
Kim had an arsenal of favorite restaurants that she’d run back to—mostly blasé spots known for being celebrity traps. Kanye started off with more down-home predilections, often choosing comforting plate of jerk chicken over fine dining. But somewhere along the way, they found heightened gastronomic tastes (and each other) among the offerings of New York, L.A., and beyond.
That’s not to say the pair doesn’t find themselves in a celeb spot every now and then (okay, most of the time), but as you look at the evolution of their dinner parties and date nights, the two have at least made an effort to step up their dining game at times. They’ve got a long way to go before they catch up with the foodie cred of Jay and Bey, but let’s take a look at some of their most well-documented food outings to get a picture of what it means to eat like Kimye.
