Recently, we took a look at some of the favorite foods of presidents through the ages. Now, The Advocate has gone a step further, chatting up a bunch of White House chefs, both past and present, to find out what it’s like to cook for the First Family—and what their peculiar eating habits are.
Some revelations: George Bush didn’t care for broccoli, while the Obamas aren’t fond of beets. And (of course) each family has its own preferences for sweets—Bill Clinton was called out for reportedly raiding the pastry closet after-hours.
Also reassuring to know is that the presidential families aren’t above leftovers. Of course, when you have your own team of personal chefs, leftovers probably aren’t a combo of lo mein and stale pizza crusts.
