7-Eleven’s Slurpees deserve more love. From rotting our teeth during our youth, to helping us sneak Bacardia 151 into the movie theater through our teen years, the sugary frozen beverage has always held us down.

Of course, there are always ways to improve upon the legendary beverage. For fans in Michigan and Ohio, they’ll be able to sample an update Slurpee creation. Behold: the Faygo Rock & Rye Slurpee.

For those unacquainted, Faygo is an 108-year-old beverage company from Detroit, known for its flavored sodas (or “pop,” to those who love it most). The company’s drinks can be found in the Midwest and many places east of the Mississippi River, but they’re most ubiquitous in the Great Lakes, especially Michigan and Ohio.

The company’s collaboration with the Dallas-based 7-Eleven is its second. The convenience-store chain offered Faygo’s most popular soda, the strawberry-flavored Redpop, as a Slurpee flavor earlier this year. Its Rock & Rye iteration—Rock & Rye is a spiced vanilla-creme flavor—will be offered for an unspecified amount of time; however, it’s available only at select 7-Elevens in Michigan and Ohio (I’d bet the Ohio locations will be centered predominantly in the central and northwest portions of the state).

With all of that being said, what makes Faygo newsworthy?

It is the preferred drink of Detroit-area rappers Insane Clown Posse, as well as fans of the group who swarm its annual Gathering of the Juggalos.

Also, it offers flavors as diverse as cotton candy and pineapple watermelon.

Hell, with a portfolio like that, 7-Eleven might want to just hand the flavor reigns over to Faygo full-time. It’s hard not to dig the idea of a cotton-candy Slurpee.
