Blue Ice Vodka won a gold medal at the 2014 San Francisco Spirits Competition. Now, Sony Pictures and 21st Century Spirits (makers of Blue Ice Vodka) have teamed up to launch a limited-edition run of Breaking Bad-inspired Heisenberg Blue Ice Vodka. It’s currently on store shelves in California, or you can order it online through ReserveBar. A nationwide rollout is coming soon.
Blue Ice Vodka USA has just released the official commercial:
Vince Gilligan, creator and executive producer of Breaking Bad, said:
Three separate bottle designs are available: Say My Name, The One Who Knocks, and Tread Lightly. ReserveBar lists them at $27 apiece, or you can get the set for $81. Enter promo code “BREAKINGBAD” when you order the three-bottle collection to receive free shipping.
One thing that sets Blue Ice Vodka apart from its other competition on the shelf is this: It’s made from 100% Idaho russet potatoes. Spirits Review notes that less than 3 percent of the world’s vodka is currently made from potatoes, and also that potato vodka is suitable for people with celiac disease or gluten sensitivity issues.
But that’s definitely not all the brand has going for it. When reviewing regular Blue Ice Vodka, Spirits Review said:
Let’s face it: You’re going to need some help getting through the entire Breaking Bad: The Complete Series Deluxe Barrel Box Set. Heisenberg Blue Ice is the obvious choice. (If you don’t have yours yet, don’t worry. It’s still available on Amazon.)
