The 7-Eleven mantra of “what customers want, when and where they want it” is something the chain takes quite seriously.

That’s why 7-Eleven just teamed up with San Francisco-based Postmates to start offering delivery to customers in San Francisco and Oakland.

That’s right. Slurpees delivered straight to your door. The American Dream achieved just in time for the Fourth of July.

You won’t be able to get everything your local 7-Eleven offers through Postmates, but an assortment of hot foods, snacks, cold beverages (hello, endless Slurpees), and other convenience items will be offered.

In a statement, 7-Eleven’s vice president of innovation Raja Doddala said:

“7‑Eleven’s founder, Joe C. Thompson Jr., used to say 7‑Eleven’s mission was to ‘give customers what they want, when and where they want it’. Through the modern-day technology that Postmates provides, we can fulfill that promise in a way we haven’t done before.

Through our partnership with Postmates, 7‑Eleven’s reach extends beyond our physical stores. The program should work well for us because it appeals to our customers who are more on-the-go, connected 24/7 and prefer fast-paced, urban living.”

To all you Slurpee fans outside of SF and Oakland: 7-Eleven will roll out the on-demand Slurpee service in the following metro areas by the end of the year:

  • Austin
  • NYC
  • Los Angeles
  • Washington D.C.
  • Chicago

While we definitely wish we had this option now to help us beat the summer heat, we’ll take it whenever, because drinking a Slurpee in the summer makes us feel like…
