We were very excited when we woke up to the news of a Shake Shack x Big Gay Ice Cream dessert collabo this morning.

Shake Shack has joined forces with NYC’s soft-serve darling Big Gay Ice Cream for a limited-edition holiday frozen treat, dubbed the “Layer Shake.”
According to Shake Shack’s website, “The Layer Shake consists of three tiers: Shake Shack’s rich and creamy pumpkin frozen custard; La Newyorkina graham cracker crumble mixed with caramelized pumpkin seeds and cranberries; and Big Gay Ice Cream’s egg nog soft-serve (developed in collaboration with Ronnybrook Farm Dairy).”
Big Gay Ice Cream will serve the “Layer Shake” with its egg-nog soft serve in the bottom of the cup as a frozen base, with Shake Shack’s frozen custard spun into a shake on top, sandwiching a middle layer of the cookie crumble. Shake Shack will serve the reverse, spinning the egg nog flavor as a shake atop the graham-cracker blend, with a foundational layer of pumpkin frozen custard. Both versions are topped with more of the graham mixture.
So, basically, you need to think hard about which you want to eat first: egg-nog soft serve, or frozen custard. Hard decision, we know. That being said, if you bring along one of those really long sundae spoons in your pocket and dig deep, it doesn’t much matter which location you go to.
Here’s what you need to know: The multi-layered, limited-edition shake will be available for $6.50 from November 21st-23rd, only at Big Gay Ice Cream West Village (61 Grove St) and Shake Shack DUMBO (1 Old Fulton St, Brooklyn).
If you want to get your hands on one of these limited-edition desserts, we advise that you start waiting in line, like, right now.
