It’s that time of year again: NYC Beer Week is upon us. The annual ten-day celebration of craft beer runs from February 21 to March 2, 2014, and features awesome events including festivals, tastings, menu pairings, and beer dinners.
Here’s an overview of the NYCBW events that you should definitely attend:
Brewer’s Choice at the Wythe Hotel
Wednesday, February 26
This is the main, and most highly anticipated, event of Beer Week. Twenty six breweries from New York, including Singlecut, Barrier, and Captain Lawrence—plus a handful of other breweries from the northeast—gather at the Wythe Hotel in Brooklyn to share a few of their limited-release offerings. Many of the brews that will be showcased rely entirely on ingredients grown in NY state. Snacks from Luke’s Lobster, Mile End, and eight other New York restaurants will be on hand for when you need sustenance.

Wood-aged Beer Fest at Spuyten Duyvil
Saturday, February 22
The impressive tap list includes Allagash James Bean, To Øl / Omnipollo Brewmance, Crooked Stave Nightmare on Brett Street, and a number of other offerings on tap and in bottles. We advise that you get there early!

CASKALOT Cask Festival at 508Gastrobrewery
Sunday, February 23
A celebration of cask conditioned ales by the NYC Brewers Guild, hosted by Soho’s 508 Gastrobrewery. Tickets, priced at $45, gets you three hours of unlimited pours of cask conditioned ales from Brooklyn Brewery, Finback, KelSo,Rockaway, and 508Gastrobrewery.

Split Thy Skull XV (High-ABV Beers) at Mugs Ale House
Saturday, March 1 and Sunday, March 2
Gravity casks with super high ABV will be flowing at Mugs in Brooklyn all weekend. Around 20 beers will be offered both days, including Goose Island Bourbon County Imperial Stout ’12 (14% ABV), Stone Old Guardian Oak Smoked American Barleywine (11.5% ABV), and Mikkeller 1000 IBU Imperial IPA (9.6% ABV). Admission is free, just pay as you go.

Stone Brewing Cask Ale Fest at The Jeffrey
Saturday, February 22 and Sunday, February 23
Stone beer fans can gather at one of the best new beer bars of 2013 to check out inventive cask-conditioned takes on the brewery’s year-round beers. Admission is free, just pay as you go.

Women and Beer First at Glorietta Baldy
Friday, February 28
A celebration of everything women bring to the beer world, featuring female brewers, owners, reps, home-brewers, and all the beer they make. Men are welcome too.
