In honor of the 2014 release of Sierra Nevada Brewing Company’s Bigfoot Barleywine Style Ale, the brewery released this amazing time-lapse video showing how the beer ferments over six days. So, what magical ingredients go into those four huge open fermenters? 12,400 gallons of wort, 1216 pounds of whole-cone hops, and 1,000 pounds of pure brewers yeast.

Sierra Nevada releases this beast of a beer, originally introduced in the winter of 1983, each January.
