Last night Time Out New York hosted their annual food and drink awards ceremony, and this year the theme for the event was internet memes. A sneak peak of one of the altered photos came via TONY’s Twitter page early in the evening, showing Danny Bowien asking Hillary Clinton for a scrunchie. Well played team Time Out.
The event was catered by a list of New York’s favorite restaurants and nominees including Dear Bushwick (wine barrel smoked eggs), Gran Electrica (carne cocida en limon) , and L’Apicio (polenta with pork meatballs) to name just a few. Of the 40 nominees, only a select few reader’s and critics picks were awarded a token white plate—a trophy that can be spotted all over the city.
