Despite conventional perceptions played up by beer commercials and Al Bundy, women enjoy a pint or three just as much as men—Alison Grayson’s The Love of Beer is proof.

Bend Brewing‘s Tonya Cornett and Sarah Pederson (Saraveza) are among the lady brewers and publicans profiled in Grayson’s documentary. As the film points out, the idea of beer being the domain of men is largely a post-Industrial notion—women have been brewing nonstop throughout history. It’s good to see the craft movement shedding some of the stereotypes of more recent decades and providing new opportunities for women who love hops and malts.

The film is the latest feature on Whole Foods’ Do Something Reel Film Festival. It’s currently available for online rental through the festival page via various platforms like iTunes, Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu, etc.
