Further proof that everyone’s a “foodie” these days: Yesterday, one of our columnists brought our attention to the tweet below from James Deen (we won’t say which, as that would expose the fact that she follows James Deen):

James Deen, of course, is the young male porn star who we can all now refer to as that guy from the New York Times Lindsay Lohan piece, rather than the dude whose boner we’ve seen countless times on the Internet.

While he’s already well-known in many spheres—he got a full-on profile in GQ over the summer, and his role in the Canyons has become a hot topic in light of the NYT piece and Bret Easton Ellis’ Twitter infatuation with him—it seems that he’s looking to extend his brand to the world of food TV. However, if his feed is anything to go by, it’s very much a side project, since his profile still says “i…bang chicks for a living” and nine out of 10 tweets look more like this:

So anyway, about the show: It’s on WoodRocket.com, a very NSFW website that appears to feature various series in which porn stars do stuff other than have sex, such as reenact Internet memes and figured out what type of household objects they can deepthroat. (Seriously though, there is some actual porn too, so wait until you get home to explore such videos as SpongeKnob SquareNuts XXX.)

Deen’s dining segment is called “James Deen Loves Food,” and there have been seven episodes since January 3. Thus far, there are two main themes: Deen’s love of fast food, and Deen’s obsession with serial killers.

The former has inspired two dull installments in which he basically just drives to Burger King and Del Taco and makes insanely long drive-thru orders. The latter manifests itself in somewhat disturbing segments where he eats the last meals of Death Row inmates like John Wayne Gacy and Ted Bundy, then talks about how screwed up they were. There’s also an episode in which he makes flash-frozen ice cream with some guy who has a liquid nitrogen machine.

So there you have it, a bit of pop culture ephemera for you to digest today. So far we can’t quite envision Deen taking on Guy Fieri for a prime-time Food Network spot, but at very least, he may play a pivotal role in helping the foodgasm come full circle.
