Show Us Your Food Porn: Noah Fecks

The passionate NYC photographer walks us through his 10 most memorable shots.

Nicoletta, New York, NY

Ask Noah Fecks about his favorite shots from his portfolio (noahfecks.com), and you’ll soon realize that it’s not just beautiful food and stunning drinks that capture his attention—more than anything, the East Village resident seems to be guided by a deep love of New York City.

Whether he’s shooting a classic lox bagel or one of the city’s storied dive bars, he always strives to connect with people and the places as much as what’s on the table. His enthusiasm for the restaurants and bars he shoots comes through in images that are bursting with lush detail, vivid colors, and a sense of excitement. In short, he makes food pop, a talent that has helped him find his way into the pages of the New York Times, Saveur, and Bon Appétit.

Here, Fecks gives us the stories behind some of his favorite shoots, including a crazy dinner service at the James Beard House, and the time a bartender at Booker & Dax busted out a canister of liquid nitrogen to chill a cocktail.
