Carla McFarland of Frederick, Maryland says she was served a bag of marijuana with her fast-food order at a Sonic drive-in. The Frederick News-Post reports that she found the little plastic baggie of pot in a container along with the French fries she bought last Wednesday.
At this point, many people would have snapchatted the baggie of weed and sent it to 10 of their friends along with a praying hands emoji—but not McFarland. Instead, she complained to a manager and called the police. McFarland tells The Frederick News-Post,
“I just kind of sat there in my car in shock. I kept thinking, what if my kids had eaten it?”
She says a manager later told her an employee had been fired after saying the bag must have slipped from her apron. AP confirms that the employee no longer works at the Frederick Sonic franchise.
McFarland tells The Frederick News-Post that she posted about the discovery on Facebook, prompting laughs from more than a few friends. But McFarland isn’t laughing. She says,
“I think that’s why everyone thinks it’s so funny, because it’s marijuana and it’s going to be legalized. It could have been crack. It could have been cocaine in that little baggie.”
God help fast-food chain patrons everywhere.
