Watch the Trailer for Eddie Huang’s ABC Sitcom, Fresh Off the Boat

The Human Panda gets his own sitcom.

Eddie, you made it!

Baohaus owner/rabble-rouser/Vice star/Human Panda Eddie Huang has been a busy man since releasing his memoir, Fresh Off the Boat, last year. He’s working with Rob Dyrdek and MTV on a show called Snack-Offhe just launched a cable talk show with Meghan McCain, and now ABC has released the pilot for a sitcom based on the book.

This major network platform represents a significant coup for Huang, who has made it clear that his goal is to get his story out there and represent Asian-Americans in mainstream media.

By the looks of the trailer, though, we’d say the show looks less like All-American Girl and more like the Goldbergs, the very funny Jewish family sitcom starring Jeff Garlin.

Either way, Eddie’s come a long way since ranking fictional chefs on First We Feast.
