If you’re not up on British food staples, Marmite is a sticky, dark-colored spread produced from concentrated yeast leftover from beer production. Created by a family looking to capitalize on the abundance of breweries located in Burton-upon-Trent, the love-it-or-hate-it product (it’s an acquired taste, for sure) has maintained popularity since being introduced in 1902.
